This fieldtrip was a one day pre-conference excursion of the Rocky Mountain Section AAPG Energy Elevated conference organised in Salt Lake City (Utah, USA) in September 2013.
During this trip we looked at the stromatolites of the Great Salt Lake as well as the different level of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville.
The stromatolites of the Great Salt Lake are growing in hypersaline waters in the shallowest par of the lake. The best place to access and observe them is Antelope Island.
