I visited the Calanques in a lot of occasions in 2011 and 2012, it is located south-east of Marseille (France). There were two main aims because part of two different projects.
I drove and walked across the Calanques Massif during the 2012 summer to help an MSc student with his project. The objective was to measure all fractures and fault encountered to determine the paleo-stress field of Cretaceous limestones.
The other objective was a continuity of my MSc research project to further characterise the Jurassic dolomitic units around Marseille in 2011. Particularly I focused on La Gineste pass, La Madrague de Mont Redon coast and Le Défens coast outcrops to record sedimentary logs and collect samples. The samples were then analysed for sedimentary petrography, diagenesis and stable isotopes (C, O and Sr).
